Lake Windsor Country Club Wedding

Meredith and Joe said their “I do’s” at the Lake Windsor Country Club in Windsor, WI on September 2, 2022! Meredith and Joe first met on a blind date! Meredith’s childhood best friend and her husband arranged a double date for the four of them, and Joe actually planned out their entire day in Chicago. They spent over 12 hours together and loved every single minute of it. During the couple’s thank you speech at their wedding, Meredith told their guests about their first date. According to her, it was truly a “blind” date because while she was getting ready, she accidentally stabbed herself in the eye with her eyeliner, which caused her to be over an hour late for their date. It was an adorable story and had everyone at the wedding laughing.

Joe proposed to Meredith about two years into their relationship during a hike to Lion’s Den Gorge. He invited his twin sister on the hike, which was pretty typical, so Meredith didn’t suspect anything. At the end of the hike, they stopped at the same bench that Joe told Meredith he loved her for the first time. During their break, Joe’s sister pretended to take a phone call while she waited for Joe to pop the question. That way, she was in the perfect position to take a video and photos. Joe got down on one knee in a beautiful, meaningful location and had his sister there to document! Meredith said she was so surprised, and it was an amazing experience for both of them.

Meredith and Joe’s wedding day was pretty laid back despite starting the day with a huge thunderstorm! During the first look, we were able to find cover under an arch at the church. Luckily, the rain stopped after the ceremony and the rest of the day was overcast, which is perfect for photos.

Since the church and the venue were fairly close together, we never felt rushed. So, after taking photos at Lake Windsor with the wedding party, Joe’s sister handed the couple keys to a golf cart so they could escape and have a moment alone before the reception started. As I’ve said before, taking a moment alone during your wedding day is essential! It’s such a busy day, and having a moment to yourselves to soak it all in is always worth it.

Their decor theme was whimsical garden with a modern twist, so the flowers in the centerpieces and bouquets were absolutely stunning! They depicted the theme of the wedding perfectly.

Meredith and Joe had a large wedding party filled with close friends and family. By the end of the night, the dance floor was packed! The couple had a great time celebrating their big day with their loved ones.
