Amanda and Gunner got married on a chilly winter day at The Venue in Leawood, Kansas. Even the freezing temperatures couldn’t stop this outgoing and tenacious couple! Their love for each other truly made the cold weather bearable for everyone around them. After having to change venues at the last minute, they were determined to keep their original wedding date. Despite a few frozen fingers, I was so grateful for the opportunity to be a part of their big day!Â
The day started with a beautiful and sentimental ceremony at Old Mission United Methodist Church in Fairway, Kansas. Amanda and Gunner exchanged their vows in the same exact church that Amanda’s parents got married in 34 years ago! Also, Amanda wore her Grandmother’s opal ring as a sentimental wedding day accessory. Personally, I love when there is a backstory, or a little family history, when it comes to a couple’s choice of venue or attire. It makes the day that much more personal, and it makes for a great story! Â
Did I mention it was cold outside yet? I’m talking single digits! But, thankfully, we had the sun. Amanda, Gunner, and their wedding party were real troopers, and we got some amazing outdoor photos. Of course, there were a lot of quick photos followed by breaks to go inside and warm up, but Amanda was perfectly happy to take photos in the cold! Ask any bride, some fresh air, even frigid air, is welcomed after a long morning of wedding prep. I took full advantage of Amanda’s willingness to be outside, and I got some stunning shots of her in her elegant lace wedding gown from Something White Bridal!Â
From there, the reception took place at The Venue, an elegant venue in Leawood, Kansas! Before the party started, Amanda and Gunner took the time to thank their guests for attending their wedding. They expressed how grateful they were for everyone who came despite the last-minute venue change and COVID restrictions. Thanking your wedding guests is always a good idea no matter what the circumstances are. They’re there to celebrate you and it’s always appreciated!!Â
Amanda and Gunner’s wedding day was definitely an event to remember!Â
Amanda and Gunner – Thank you for trusting me to capture your beautiful day! There is no one else I would rather freeze for than you two! You both bring so much joy and laugher to a room, and watching you two together brings a big smile to my face! Here’s to your next chapter as husband and wife! Hugs – TK
