Ashley and Alex’s elegant backyard wedding took place on a warm Kansas May day! The sun was shining, and the couple couldn’t have asked for better weather for their outdoor wedding! Ashley and Alex had to reschedule their wedding due to COVID, so this intimate celebration only had about 40 people in attendance with a few joining via Zoom. The couple plans to have their full reception at a later date when all of their guests can safely attend.
Ashley and Alex met in college through a mutual friend. They actually attended the same high school but never connected during their time there together! It’s clear that these two are absolutely head over heels for each other. Before the ceremony, Alex was so full of emotion, and after they said I do, and he finally got to marry the love of his life, he was all smiles and happy tears.
The pace of the day was extremely relaxed. The girls got ready at Alex’s parents’ house, which was also where the reception took place. From there, the couple got married at Christ Community Church in Brookside, KS. Because they weren’t on a tight schedule with a venue, the couple had plenty of time to take photos with their wedding party on the bus. Ashley and Alex’s friends were so grateful to be standing by their side on their big day. You could almost feel the love through the camera.
Alex’s parents’ backyard looked like a professional wedding venue. I was so impressed! The tables were set with simple yet elegant décor and plenty of roses, which was the couple’s new shared last name. It was a personal, intimate, and stress-free celebration that I’m sure will be talked about for years to come.
Ashley and Alex, thank you for letting me be a part of your wedding day! I loved photographing you and capturing all the love between you two! I can’t wait to watch you grow as husband and wife! Hugs – TK
