Boulevard Brewery Wedding | Megan & Brandon

Wedding

Megan and Brandon said ‘I do’ in February at Boulevard Brewing Company, which is Kansas City’s most well-known brewery! Boulevard Brewing Company has several event spaces that will accommodate small intimate gatherings of 35 people or large 225-guest weddings.

Photographing a wedding for someone I know personally is always a special occasion. I’ve known the bride, Megan, for years, so it was a privilege to photograph her wedding and celebrate alongside her and Brandon’s friends and family.

The couple’s story started at the University of Georgia. They met while doing a class project together! They have been together for just over four years. Brandon proposed to Megan at her home in front of her entire family over the holidays. He put her engagement ring inside of one of the Christmas ornaments on her tree. He called her over, pointed at the ornament, and then got down on one knee!

Overall, Megan and Brandon’s wedding day was laid back! The couple chose not to do a first look before the ceremony, but Megan did have a sweet first look with her dad right before he walked her down the aisle.

It was a typical cold February day in Kansas City, but that didn’t stop us from taking photos outdoors. The bridesmaids wore beautiful faux-fur shawls that not only kept them warm, but complemented their dresses perfectly. Megan’s dress was unique, and it had a stunning back, so we took a ton of twirling pictures to show it off. Some of Megan and Brandon’s close friends joined the wedding party between the ceremony and reception and put the “party” in party bus. It was so much fun!

Boulevard Brewing Company wanted to do something special for Megan and Brandon, so they provided them with custom pint glasses to give away as wedding favors. As far as wedding favors go, these glasses were top notch! They’re practical, they mark the location, and give guests a useful memento from Megan and Brandon’s wedding night.

At the reception, Megan had a dance with not only her father, but also her grandfather, which I thought was super sweet. The couple ended their wedding reception with a private dance, just the two of them, while their guests got ready for their big send off. I’ve said this before, but snagging a moment for just you and your partner to enjoy is so important during your wedding day. The day can go by so quickly, so enjoying a quiet moment together to take it all in is essential.

Megan and Brandon – Congratulations, you are married!! You two complement each other so well, and I know you are going to love married life. Thank you for trusting me to capture your wedding day! Hugs – TK
