Geneva National Wedding

Wedding

I was lucky enough to photograph yet another stunning fall wedding at Geneva National Resort & Club! Jillian and Max got married on September 30, 2022 and put so much thought into the details of their wedding! Iā€™m so grateful they trusted me to capture their big day!

Jillian & Max first met online in December of 2018, and their first date was a spontaneous drink at a bar close to where Jillian lived. After that night they were inseparable!! Max proposed to Jillian in October of 2021. The couple bonded over a guilty pleasure, their love for hot dogs, and they had a once-a-week standing hot dog date during their courtship. So, naturally, Maxā€™s proposal had to include a hot dog lunch. They shared a picnic on the harbor overlooking Chicago where he popped the question. And according to Jillian, it was perfect!!

Jillian and Maxā€™s wedding ceremony took place at Geneva Nationalā€™s Lakeview Terrace. The views of Lake Como from this ceremony location are breathtaking! And we had the best weather! It was a perfect, sunny fall day in Lake Geneva, Wisconsin. Jillianā€™s dress was simple and beautiful! She wore her grandmaā€™s elegant diamond bracelet, which was the perfect accessory to compliment Jillianā€™s style. The bridesmaid dresses Jillian chose were definitely my favorite of the season (and as a wedding photographer, I see a lot of bridesmaid dresses!). They had such a fun texture and I swear the soft blue matched the sky and the lake perfectly. Every detail was so well thought out!!Ā

The couple also had an artist who was painting their wedding ceremony live! She started before the ceremony and finished just after dinner. Jillian and Max had a private reveal and it turned out so good!Ā

I must say for Jillian and Maxā€™s solo photos, we had the best evening light! Thereā€™s just something about autumn sunlight! The sun was perfectly peeking over the rolling hills, and the stunning grounds of Geneva National are the perfect wedding day photo backdrop! After their photos, while their guests made their way from cocktail hour to the reception, Jillian & Max had a private dinner on the terrace. I think this is such a special idea to ensure you enjoy dinner before all the reception events start but also to take a moment with just each other! Wedding days are always so full of events and this is a special time to soak in time with each other!Ā

Jillian and Max held their wedding reception in Geneva Nationalā€™s luxurious Grand Ballroom. Out of the three event spaces Geneva National offers, this one was definitely my favorite. The Grand Ballroom is located in the clubhouse and features a 90-foot wall of floor-to-ceiling windows that showcase the rolling hills of the golf course and the shore of Lake Como. The dĆ©cor is elegant and timeless, which was perfect for the coupleā€™s simple, romantic style!

Another unique touch at this couple’s wedding was having the Bluewater Kings Band! They were so much fun and kept the dance floor packed all night long. Jillian had a quick wardrobe change once the dancing really got started. She changed into a shorter dress that she paired with pearl studded high tops. So stinkinā€™ adorable!! I loved her attention to detail, and the fact that she changed into something she was more comfortable in so she could really enjoy the rest of her wedding reception!!

Jillian and Max- Thank you so much for making me feel so welcome on your big day! Youā€™re both so sweet, and I had so much fun! I canā€™t wait to see what the future holds for the two of you. Hugs – Taylor
