Courtney and Mark tied the knot at Gather at Deer District on September 24, 2022 and it was simply the best! These two are quite possibly the biggest sports fans I’ve ever met (prepare for sports puns)!! So, it was only fitting for them to choose a wedding venue right next to the home stadium for the Milwaukee Bucks. As far as Milwaukee wedding venues go, Gather at Deer District is a wedding photographer’s dream. This one-of-a-kind modern wedding venue is located right downtown, AND it features floor to ceiling windows, which let in so much natural light! If you’re looking for a modern wedding venue in downtown Milwaukee, Gather at Deer District is a slam dunk!!
This adorable couple met at a March Madness party (naturally) that was held by Courtney’s aunt and uncle. Mark, who was attending the party, just so happened to be Courtney’s cousin’s best friend. He and Courtney bonded over their mutual love for all things sports, and the rest is history!
Courtney and Mark were officially engaged on September 5th, 2021. They were attending a concert at a secluded venue in Washington state. They wanted to kill some time before the show, and there wasn’t much around the venue other than a winery, so they decided to walk over and do a wine tasting. They were exploring the vineyards when Courtney turned to Mark and he was down on one knee! He definitely didn’t drop the ball on his proposal. Courtney said it was a really memorable day!
The couple decided to do a first look, so we were able to take all of the group wedding photos before the ceremony. As a seasoned wedding photographer, I always recommend getting pictures out of the way first, that way you and your wedding party can enjoy cocktail hour! We took the bridal party and family photos outside of Gather at Deer District and around the neighboring stadium. The modern lines of the stadium were a perfect backdrop for wedding photos!
Courtney and Mark’s I do’s took place in Gather at Deer Districts wedding ceremony space. You could see the stadium in the background from the venue’s gorgeous floor to ceiling windows. The space also featured bistro lights and simple, elegant décor! All around a stunning venue!!
The entire day was extremely laid-back thanks to Courtney and Mark’s wedding planner. Events to a T kept everything running smoothly and on-time. Seriously, it was such a stress-free day! If you’re planning a wedding in Milwaukee, I highly recommend Events to a T!
For the reception, the couple highlighted a big-time athlete on each of their table number cards (I told you they were huge sports fans). The rest of their décor was beautifully simple with white flowers and plenty of greenery!
One thing I know for sure, Courtney and Mark know how to have FUN!! After dinner, speeches, and formal dances, the DJ really kicked-off the party. Ricardo from RC Productions knows how to keep the dance floor packed all night. Finding a DJ who knows how to keep the dance floor going all night is a high priority in my book!! Ricardo did just that and he was friends with Courtney so that made it even more special! Courtney even changed into sneakers to aid her dancing skills. Their guests were having so much fun, the party didn’t stop after the venue closed. The couple rented out a room at a bar down the street so they could continue to celebrate their new two-person team with close friends and family!
Oh one more thing!! These two went to Greece for their honeymoon and it just so happened that on their way home, their layover was in London on the day the Packers were playing! Of course they got tickets and soaked up all the fun!
