Elizabeth and Louie tied the knot in early fall at Gather at Deer District, a one-of-a-kind wedding venue located in downtown Milwaukee, Wisconsin. When it came to their wedding day, EB and Louie had two goals, one, to have a memorable day celebrating their marriage, and two, to capture all of the big moments with each other, and the most important people in their lives. Mission accomplished!
EB and Louie met at a concert in Chicago about 5 years ago. They were both there with friends, and one of Louie’s friends made him (gently) bump into EB during the concert. He complimented her mad dance skills and the rest is history!
When it came time to propose, Louie had a plan. The couple went on a hike with their dog, Kedzie, and when they reached the end of the hike, an overlook of Lake Michigan, Louie got down on one knee and popped the question! EB said, yes (!) and they got to enjoy the rest of their hike back to the car. But Louie wasn’t quite done. When they got home, EB was greeted by her friends and family with a surprise party celebrating their engagement. According to EB, it was a perfect day!
EB and Louie’s wedding day started at The Trade Hotel, a new luxury hotel right across from Gather at Deer District. They had a GIANT suite to get ready in, and it was magical to photograph. Hotel rooms are usually not photogenic, but this one was stunning. If you’re planning your wedding day at Gather at Deer District, or any wedding venue in the downtown Milwaukee area, I highly recommend it!
Before the ceremony, EB’s bridesmaids surprised her with a book filled with photos and letters from each of them. They gave it to her in the morning (before she got her makeup done). She and Louie also wrote letters to each other to read before the ceremony.
The couple’s vows took place in Gather at Deer Districts STUNNING wedding ceremony space. With floor to ceiling windows and a view of downtown Milwaukee, you really couldn’t ask for a more beautiful backdrop to say your I dos. EB carried photos of her grandmothers with her down the aisle attached to her bouquet, which was absolutely beautiful and perfect for a fall wedding. Belle Fiori did an amazing job with all of the florals!
After the ceremony, we went to Sanger House Gardens, a small garden in the city to take photos of just EB and Louie. EB wanted to focus on their individual wedding photos because she said they don’t really take a lot of photos together, so I loved having all the extra time with just them two! Luckily, we had a gorgeous fall day with plenty of sun and a perfect backdrop. From there, we went to the Northpoint LightHouse to take photos of the wedding party! The wedding party was full of energy which always makes for the best time!
After the photos were taken care of, it was time to party! The reception décor was modern, elegant, and romantic. And I can’t NOT mention their wedding cake! Their cake was made by Nessi’s Cupcakes and it was a masterpiece. At the bottom of the cake, there was a dog figure that looked like the couple’s dog, Kedzie, and the artist made it look like the dog was eating the cake. It was so cute! Every detail of EB and Louie’s wedding was well thought out and personal. The rest of their reception was full of energy, love, and of course, dancing!
EB and Louie- Thank you so much for choosing me to be apart of your big day! I loved getting to walk through this season with you two and capture your stunning and extra fun day! I wish you all of the love and luck for your future! Hugs, TK
