Emily and Tony’s wedding day was at The Legends of Bristlecone and it was definitely one to remember! I’m so grateful that I was able to be a part of the entire process for these two. The couple got married on a warm fall day at The Legend at Bristlecone in Hartland, Wisconsin. The venue is located in the heart of lake country, and it was a perfect setting for this couple’s big day. We even got to see some fall colors beginning to show, which made the scene even more perfect!
Emily and Tony’s love story began in college. They both attended the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, and after chatting, they realized they were from the same small town. After that, the rest was history. They both quickly fell head over heels for each other. Emily, being the selfless woman that she is, agreed to move to Texas with Tony after college. Now, they’re back to calling Wisconsin their home, and settling in close to family.
Tony proposed to Emily with a little help from their good friends Jon and Bethany, who stood by the couple’s side on their wedding day as best man and matron of honor. The two surprised Emily when she and Tony were still living in Texas. The four of them went out to a nice dinner, and then they went for a stroll on the Ronald Kirk Bridge in downtown Dallas. Emily had absolutely no idea. She thought having her best friends there was enough of a surprise! One minute they were walking along, and the next minute the man of Emily’s dreams was down on one knee.
Emily and Tony couldn’t wait to say I do! Although COVID may have shortened their guest list a little bit, they didn’t let the pandemic stop them from celebrating their love story. The couple even chose to live stream their wedding ceremony so guests who couldn’t make it would feel included, which I thought was beautiful and really thoughtful of them!
Their families and their wedding party members were all extremely easygoing and welcoming people. It was such a please to spend the day with them! The day was incredibly smooth and laid back, but of course the bride and groom were still giddy with excitement to get down the aisle to see each other!
Each of them carried a little something special with them to the altar. Tony’s mother passed away so he had a charm pinned to the inside of his suit jacket with a picture of her and himself as a young boy. As for Emily, her wedding bouquet had a small picture of her grandmother attached to it, which she carried close to her heart throughout the day.
We all love an emotional groom when the bride makes her way down the aisle, and Tony did not disappoint! You could truly see the love he had for Emily on his face when he saw her walking towards him. It was a beautifully touching moment for everyone to witness.
Emily and Tony – I want to thank you for choosing me to photograph your wedding day! From your engagement session, to planning the details of your big day, to celebrating your love story, it’s been such a joy getting to know you both! Here’s to your love and the exciting season ahead! Big hugs – TK
