STL Ritz Carlton Wedding

Wedding

Krista and Alex held their wedding ceremony and reception at the Ritz Carlton in St. Louis Missouri. These two were such a joy to work with! Their love for each other was apparent, and they both lit up whenever they were in close proximity. According to Krista, their families call them an old married couple. Most of their free time is spent just enjoying each other’s company. They love to garden, try new restaurants, cook, and walk their pup, Moose!

Krista and Alex first met at a local coffee shop. They struck up a deep conversation, and the rest is history! When it came time for Alex to pop the question, Krista says she knew it was coming. They designed her ring together, which was ready in October. But Alex needed some element of surprise, so he waited until January to propose. He had a large bouquet of roses delivered to their house, and in the bouquet was a card from their puppy, Moose, that said, “Mom, will you marry Dad?” When Krista was done reading the card, she turned to find Alex down on one knee! Krista says the proposal was sweet and simple, just like she wanted. After she said yes, they spent the rest of the day together and went to their favorite restaurant for dinner.

The couple’s wedding day was overcast with a light rain, which was typical for May in St. Louis. Their ceremony and reception took place in the Solarium at the Ritz Carlton. The Solarium is a unique indoor/outdoor wedding venue space that features all of the luxury and elegance you would expect at the Ritz! With a latticed ceiling draped in ivy and all the natural light you could ask for; this space was crazy beautiful!

Before the ceremony, Krista and Alex shared an emotional first look and they each read their hand-written vows aloud to each other. It was a sweet, private moment between the two of them before they shared the night with friends and family.

Krista and Alex put a lot of thought into finding local vendors they trusted. Every person I encountered that night was amazing to work with! Hiring vendors who take pride in their work and truly want to give you a memorable experience can make all the difference on your wedding day. My advice? Take your time! Talk to multiple vendors until you find the ones you can trust. Everything about the couple’s big day was well thought out right down to the stationary. Their invitations and details were stunning! If you’re looking for wedding invitations, I highly recommend Simply Torn.

After the ceremony, the space was transformed into a dreamy reception space. There were three long tables decorated with romantic floral and candlelight centerpieces. With everyone seated together, the evening felt so intimate and personal, which is exactly what the couple wanted for their wedding day.

Instead of a guest book, Krista and Alex had a time capsule for their guests to fill with well wishes and advice that they planned to open on their 5th wedding anniversary. I thought it was such a unique idea! The couple also added a bottle of wine to share and their hand-written vows so they can reread them to their future selves.

At the end of the night, Krista and Alex shared a private drink at the bar together. I loved how much this couple valued taking time alone to soak it all in. Your wedding day goes by so fast, so these private little moments together are everything!

Krista and Alex- Thank you for inviting me to be a part of your special day. With how much care and consideration you put into your vendor search, I am truly honored. I wish you both the best of luck!
