The Farm at Dover Wedding

Samantha and Josh held their June wedding at The Farm at Dover on Saturday, June 10, 2023! As a couple, Sam and Josh are super fun and outgoing! Being a wedding photographer is the best job in the world (in my opinion) because of the amazing clients I get to work with. These two had me laughing so hard during their couple’s portraits my belly hurt the next day. Their main goal for the wedding was to have a good time with their loved ones and they did just that!

After three years of dating, Josh proposed to Sam during a romantic getaway to Mexico. He walked Sam to the ocean-front caves at their resort and got down on one knee! After the proposal, they went to a romantic dinner on the resort property. Sam said it was a special moment that she’ll never forget.

The couple’s ceremony and reception took place at The Farm at Dover, a beautiful all-in-one property located about 35 miles southwest of Milwaukee. The bridal party got ready in the historic house that’s on the property. The house was spacious and gorgeous, so taking photos was a breeze! There was plenty of room to spread out and take advantage of the unique, rustic qualities of the house.

The ceremony space was a short walk from the house, but it felt like we were in the middle of the woods. It was a hot day, but luckily the ceremony was shaded! Sam’s father passed away years ago, so she and her step-dad did a first look and he was the one to walk her down the aisle. It was clear he played a very important role in her life and their interactions were so sweet. Sam and Josh exchanged heartfelt vows in front of their loved ones. There was not a dry eye in the crowd! It was a really sweet ceremony.

After the ceremony, we took pictures of the wedding party and the newlyweds on The Farm at Dover property. There were so many amazing spots to use as a background, and as I mentioned, they were such a fun group to work with! The reception space aesthetic in the barn was the perfect combination of rustic and elegant. The wood beams, warm lights, and hanging chandeliers matched the couple’s style completely. The Farm at Dover really had it all! It’s the perfect spot if you’re looking for a rustic venue that has everything you need all in one spot.

After dinner and speeches, the party truly got started. Sam and Josh danced the night away with their loved ones and achieved their goal of having the best time on their wedding day!
